Starting Your Planning...
1. Look for a location where you want to
have your ceremony. If it is outside, make sure you
have a “back-up” location in case of inclement
weather. Most banquet halls are set up to let you have
“on site” weddings. Hint – many cities
have facilities which they rent out at a reasonable
price through their departments of Parks and Recreation. |
 |
2. Money Saving Hints: Summer
afternoons in “peak season” (Victoria Day
to Thanksgiving Weekend) command top prices by all wedding
vendors and sites.
- Consider booking your wedding as a Sunday afternoon
cocktail/luncheon or getting married Friday evening.
(Wedding sites often offer discounts at these times)
Officiants and other resource people tend to be more
available and the service you get tends to be better.
- Most banquet halls offer significant price reductions
for booking “off season” (January-April).
You might also be able to negotiate a better price
with other wedding resource persons (photographers,
DJ’s etc).
- Clergy tend to be booked up first on “peak
season” Saturday afternoons between 3:00 and
5:00 pm
- If you can be “flexible” with your
ceremony start time, you might be able to negotiate
a fee reduction.
- As part of the service we offer our couples, we
can advise you on wedding sites and help recommend
people providing wedding services such as photographers,
musicians and DJ’s.
